Another weekend has come to a close for theaters across the U.S., and things are looking pretty bleak

With Tenet remaining the biggest release since the pandemic began, things are looking worse by the week. Tenet took in $2.7M this weekend, off about 21% from its previous weekend. Considering it is the largest movie in release currently, and no others coming for weeks yet, these results are not remotely a positive sign. Domestically it now sits at $45.1M and a global total of $307.1M off of a $200M budget.
Second place went to Hocus Pocus… yes… the one from 1993. The rerelease took in $1.92M from 2,570 theaters.
The New Mutants landed in third with $1M for a new total of $20.91M. Globally it sits at $41.91M off of a $67M budget.
Fourth place went to Unhinged with $870K.
Infidel rounded out the top five with $455K.
Regal Cinemas is looking to shutting down until further notice, so expect numbers to drop off even more should that come to be.
