Super Meat Boy, one of the indie movement’s early superstars, is finally getting a long-overdue sequel this coming year. Developer Team Meat states that the game will now come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in April 2019, also taking note that the game will not be available through Steam for the first year.
Instead, it will be used to highlight Epic Games’ new storefront, throwing down the gauntlet between Epic and Valve. (Whew, thank goodness I game on a Switch)
It seems like only yesterday Meat Boy and Bandage Girl were escaping from an exploding laboratory in the sky. Now it’s the current year, and they’ve welcomed their daughter Nugget into the world. Their days enjoying life as a family came to an abrupt end when Dr. Fetus beat the snot out of them with a rusty shovel, and kidnapped Nugget! Now it’s up to Meat Boy and Bandage Girl to rescue their daughter from a lunatic fetus in a jar that can only be described as an incel version of Nikola Tesla.
Super Meat Boy Forever will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Epic Games in April 2019.
