Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is Officially Certified Fresh

After earning high praise from critics, Rotten Tomatoes has officially bestowed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse with a Certified Fresh rating.

The rating is an aggregate and indicates that critics enjoyed the movie. As of now, the film has a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with only one review out of 93 not liking the movie. For what it’s worth, that review criticized the movie’s animation, not necessarily the story or humor.

We rounded up a few reviews of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse over on Spider-Man News.Some critics say it’s the best Spider-Man film ever and even one of the best superhero movies ever made. That’s incredibly high praise in a market dominated by Avengers.

What’s different about this version of Spider-Man is that he’s played by Miles Morales, a teen who is half-Puerto Rican and half-African America. The movie also features Spider-Gwen, Peter Parker, Spider-Ham, Peni Parker, and Spider-Noir.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse hits theaters on December 14.
