Disney Plus is going to dive into the time of the High Republic, a time period in Star Wars history yet to be seen in live-action. The project has been going on for several years now as novels and comic books, but this is the first time it will be seen as a Disney Plus project.
The High Republic takes place 150 to 300 years before Anakin Skywalker’s birth. That means the only known Jedi from the Clone Wars/Galactic Civil War time period who would be alive would be Yoda, who would be between 600 and 750 years old. It’s not known when he became a member of the Jedi Council, but we won’t be too surprised to see him show up somewhere in the series.
The series was created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll). She also directs the first two episodes of the eight-episode series and serves as an executive producer and the showrunner.
Star Wars: The Acolyte will debut on Disney Plus on June 4 with a two-episode premiere.
