Ghosts and Fire Country have barely started their current seasons, but that isn’t stopping CBS from giving them the greenlight to move forward for the 2024 fall season. Currently, Ghosts is averaging 10.2M viewers per episode, while Fire Country is averaging 9.21M, both showing healthy growth from their previous seasons.
With the fallout from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023 still reverberating throughout the entertainment landscape, networks are anxious to move forward into their next seasons. CBS, in particular, is really putting the pedal down, having already given a straight-to-series order to the new Young Sheldon spinoff. It has also renewed its new series Tracker, as well as putting an NCIS prequel series into development.
Expect a lot of series to get renewed this year as the networks are more than likely going to be missing out on a lot of pilots typically seen around this time of year. With the upfront presentations coming up in May, things are about to get busy in the land of television.
