Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse the top of the weekend box office

Spider-Man has proven once again he works in both live-action and animation.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse took the top spot this weekend with $120.5M, coming in well above industry estimates. It took in $88.1M in the foreign markets for a global total of $208.6M.

Second place went to The Little Mermaid with $40.6M for a new domestic total of $186.2M. It has taken in $140.5M in the foreign markets for a global total of $326.7M.

The Boogeyman opened in third place with $12.3M domestically, and $7.7M in the foreign markets for a total of $20M.

Fourth place went to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with $10.2M for a new domestic total that now sits at $322.71M. It has taken in $457.4M in the foreign markets for a global total of $780.11M.

Fast X came in second this week with $9.24M for a new domestic total of $128.46M. It has taken in $474.8M at the foreign markets for a global total of $603.27M.

The wide releases this week are Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
