To commemorate Pride, Mattel invited two LGBTQ+ artists to create custom Monster High-inspired product designs, celebrating their individuality and unique connection to the series. The results are the first ever Monster High capsule collection.

The products include prints, mugs, shirts, and more created by Lou Choquette and Cheyne Gallarde.

As Pride kicks off , we wanted to honor what Monster High represents to so many. From May 31st until June 30th, for each Monster High Pride Capsule Collection item sold, Mattel will donate $1 (up to $15K) to GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization.

First up is Cheyne Gallarde’s collection. He’s an award-winning artists burn and raised in Hawaii, and now lives in Los Angeles. His art leans towards nostalgia and embraces the secondhand comics he grew up with.

“I really was obsessed with the idea of the characters dancing, because that to me is what Pride is,” Cheyne said in a statement. “Friends are with friends. Different Monsters are celebrating their uniqueness, mixing and mingling together.”

The second artist is Lou Choquette, a transgender artists from Quebec, Canada. He credits Monster High for feeding his passion for toys and monsters, as well as teaching him English.

“I just wanted to incorporate a very chill approach to Pride that feels approachable,” Lou says. “The core idea is about friendship, relationships, healing each other, supporting each other, and being stronger together.”

All of the designs are available now on Mattel Creations.
