Marvel Studios announces plans for Phase 5 and 6

Marvel Studios took to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday night and shared a lot of information about what is to come for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel decided to blow the roof of the San Diego Convention Center. It announced that Phase 4 is ending with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and then it unleashed a slate of upcoming projects that is staggering in its volume.

We’ll kick things off with Phase 5 that is set to start in 2023.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 5

  • 2/17/23 – Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania
  • Spring 2023 – Secret Invasion
  • 5/5/23 – Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
  • Summer 2023 – Echo
  • 7/28/23 – The Marvels
  • Summer 2023 – Loki Season 2
  • 11/3/23 – Blade
  • Fall 2023 – Ironheart
  • Winter 2023/2024 – Agatha: Coven of Chaos
  • 2/16/24 – Untitled Marvel
  • Spring 2024 – Daredevil: Born Again
  • 5/3/24 – Captain America: New World Order
  • 7/26/24 – Thunderbolts

There are a lot of new characters here mixed in with returning ones. The biggest take away, however, is that you really do need to be watching the Disney Plus series, otherwise you’re going to be very confused when Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is being called ‘Captain America’ in the upcoming movie.

Thunderbolts has also been the long suspected reason that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louise-Dreyfus) has been speaking with characters such as U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Yelena (Flornece Pugh). Thunderbolts is a team of super villains that end up going out on missions, and it looks as though she is prepping that team.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 6

  • 11/8/24 – Fantastic Four
  • 2/14/25 – Untitled Marvel
  • 5/2/25 – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
  • 7/25/25 – Untitled Marvel
  • 11/7/25 – Avengers: Secret Wars

Very little was said about Phase 6, but it was enough to get anyone excited. At last the Fantastic Four will arrive, and just in time for two Avengers movies in the same year. While Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously said there would be no more Avengers films, clearly some plans have changed.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 7

  • 2/13/26 – Untitled Marvel
  • 5/1/26 – Untitled Marvel
  • 7/24/26 – Untitled Marvel
  • 11/6/26 – Untitled Marvel

Avengers: Secret Wars will close out the Multiverse Saga, so it’s anyone’s guess what Phase 7 will be the beginning of.

By no means should this schedule be considered complete. We have no clue what the Disney Plus projects are for Phase 6 as of yet. And we also have an untitled film still in Phase 5. But anyway you slice this, the MCU has a lot of very big plans still left to go.
