It’s beginning to look like October is a good month for movies fronted by villains.
First place this week went to Joker with $93.5M. Overseas it took in $140M for a global total of $230M off of a $55M budget. This marks the biggest opening ever for a film in October and the best three-day opening for an R-rated film.
Abominable came in second with $12M for a new domestic total of $37.83M. With foreign box office it sits at $76.33M globally off of a budget of $75M.
Third place went to Downton Abbey with $8M. It has taken in $73.62M domestic, and $61.8M foreign for a global total of $135.42M.
Hustlers came in fourth with $6.3M for a new domestic total of $91.32M. Globally it sits at $110.02M off of a $20M budget.
Fifth place went to It: Chapter Two with $5.35M. Domestically it now sits at $202.2M, and $436.7M globally.
This week’s wide releases will be Gemini Man, The Addams Family, and Jexi.
