Insidious: The Red Door scares up a win at the box office

If there is one thing you do at the theaters these days it is realize horror films always seem to win.

First place this week went to Insidious: The Red Door. The latest installment in the series took in $32.65 domestically, and a further $31.4M in the foreign markets for a global opening of $64.05M.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny landed in second place this week with $26.5M for a new domestic total of $121.2M. It has taken in $126.7M at the foreign box offices for a global total of $247.9M.

Third place went to Sound of Freedom with $18.21M for a new domestic total of $40.2M.

Elemental landed in fourth place with $9.6M for a new domestic total of $109.19M. It has taken in $147.7M in foreign sales for a new global total of $251.89M.

Fifth place went to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse with $8M for a new domestic total of $357.66M. It has taken in $284.6M in the foreign markets for a global total of $642.26M.

This week’s wide releases are Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One and Psycho-Pass Providence.
