It looks like the third time will be the charm for Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy as they team up for Deadpool 3.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Levy has signed on to direct Deadpool 3, the first film in the series since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox. This will mark the third project for the pair having previously made Free Guy and The Adam Project together.
There’s no word as of yet as to when Deadpool 3 will begin filming, or an approximate release date. Currently Levy is wrapping up work on Netflix’s Stranger Things, so he may be busy for some time.
Deadpool 2 released in 2018 and went on to earn $785M at the global box office. Fans have feared that with it now being Disney project that the company may soften its humor and violence, but the company has been clear they are not opposed to keeping it rated-R.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are slated to return to write the film.
Levy has also worked with Hugh Jackman (Logan) and has expressed interest in getting him in a film with Reynolds. The two actors famously have an ongoing ‘feud’ that has led to some hilarious social media posts. While Jackman has retired from the role of Wolverine, getting to work with a director and actor he likes might be enough to get him to slap on the claws one more time. We’ll just have to wait and see.
