A little independent film took the top spot at the box office this weekend.
First place went to Avengers: Endgame with a record-setting $350M domestically. Globally it sits at $1.209B already. Needless to say it broke all the records. But that wasn’t the only amazing news for Marvel Studios this weekend.
Captain Marvel climbed back up to second place with $8.05M. It now sits at $413.58M domestic and $1.11B globally.
Third place went to The Curse of La Llorona with $7.5M. Globally it sits at $86.9M off of a $9M budget.
Breakthrough landed in fourth place with $6.3M for a new total of $26.11M
Fifth place went to Shazam! with $5.52M and now stands at $131.14M domestically. Globally it has hit $346.34M off of a $100M budget.
This week’s wide-releases will be El Chicano, The Intruder, Long Shot, and Uglydolls. It’s almost guaranteed Endgame will win its second weekend, the only question is how much it will bring in.
