The Aquaman trailer wasn’t the only showing for the king of the seven seas at SDCC 2018.
Mattel had one of those action figure displays set up that makes you feel incredibly inferior about your own display efforts in your home. From above and below sea level, action figures were engaged in combat everywhere you looked. There were also some fashion dolls for Mera as well as a life-sized Black Manta above your head.
It was an impressive display and one you could have spent a good chunk of your day looking at to spot every little detail that had been included. For instance, if you stood against the wall and looked up, you could see the fans in Black Manta’s backpack were spinning.
All around it was just a heck of a display.
Oh, yes, and a few other DC characters were shoved in a display case in the corner.
Mattel is clearly going all in on Aquaman, and, we have to say, it’s kind of working.
