Star Trek hasn’t always been known for its comedy, but we’ve yet to meet the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos.

CBS All Access has debuted the Star Trek: Lower Decks trailer showing off the first taste of the new animated Star Trek comedy series. While all other Star Trek series have focused on the heroic bridge crews, who keep the ships running? A whole bunch of ensigns, and their jobs aren’t exactly pretty.

“Star Trek: Lower Decks” premieres August 6, only on CBS All Access. Developed by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (“Rick and Morty,” “Solar Opposites”), “Star Trek: Lower Decks”, a new half-hour animated comedy series, focuses on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.

And just in case you were wondering, yes, the series is considered to be canon with the rest of Star Trek.

Star Trek: Lower Decks will premiere on Aug. 6.
