The Hunger Games takes the spot at the box office

The Hunger Games have returned to the top of the box office.

First place this weekend went to The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes with $44M. It took in $54.5M in foreign markets for an opening weekend of $98.5M.

Trolls Band Together opened in second place with $30.6M. Overseas it has taken in $76.34M for a global total of $108.11M.

Third place went to The Marvels with $10.2M for a new domestic total of $65.02M. It has taken in a further $96.3M for a global total of $161.32M.

Thanksgiving opened in fourth place with $10.2M in the U.S., and a further $2.4M in the foreign markets for a global total of $12.6M.

Fifth place went to Five Nights at Freddy’s with a take of $3.5M. This brings its domestic total to $132.61M. Internationally it has taken in $139.22M for a global total of $271.84M.

This week’s wide releases are Napoleon, Wish, and Saltburn.
