With the SAG-AFTRA strike nearly in our collective rear-view mirrors, Marvel Studios has updated its release schedule, and 2024 will be pretty vacant.

As it stands now, only one Marvel film will release in 2024, and that will be Deadpool 3 on July 26. Two other films due for release in 2024 – Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts – have moved back to 2025. And Blade has received yet another delay, moving it back to November of 2025.

  • DEADPOOL 3 – Moving from 5/3/24 to 7/26/24
  • THUNDERBOLTS – Moving from 12/20/24 to 7/25/25
  • CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD – Moving from 7/26/24 to 2/14/25
  • BLADE – Moving from 2/14/25 moves to 11/7/25

Despite Deadpool 3 being the only Marvel film of 2024, that doesn’t mean that will be our only new content from the studio. We will still be seeing Echo and more than likely Agatha: Darkhold Diaries on Disney Plus as well.

While this is more than likely not the path Marvel Studios wanted to take, it may be the one it needed. Fans have been complaining about the pace of releases, and having its hand forced to release only one movie in 2024, giving us an eight month break, may be just what the doctor ordered.
