Nintendo is finally diving into the world of animated films, and we can see the first results in the Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer.

Other than the cult classic live-action Super Mario Bros. movie, Nintendo hasn’t really ventured into the world of films. Considering the depth of the company’s catalog of games, that has always been a bit surprising. That appears to finally be changing as the historic game company has partnered up with Universal Pictures for not only films, but also theme park attractions. At last Nintendo is realizing just how big of a deal it really is.
Judging by this first Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer, it looks as though Mario is making his first trip into the Mushroom Kingdom. It also appears that Luigi will get a nice nod to the Luigi’s Mansion games.
Hopefully this will be a fruitful partnership for everyone involved and this is just the start of the relationship.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will hit theaters on April 7, 2023.
