Smile scares up a win at the box office

Horror is always a surefire win at the box office no matter else is happening.

Smile opened to $22M this weekend domestically. It took in $14.5M in the foreign markets for a total of $36.5M globally.

Second place went to the controversy-riddled Don’t Worry, Darling. It took in $7.3M in the U.S. for a new domestic total of $32.8M. It has taken in $21.9M in the foreign markets for a global total of $54.7M.

The Woman King took third place with $7M for a new domestic total of $46.713M. Globally it sits at $50.613M.

Fourth place went to Bros with $4.8M.

Avatar rounded out the top five with $4.696M. Its domestic total now sits at $779.1M. and globally, it has hit $2.905B.

This week’s major releases are Amersterdam and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile.
