Super Mario Bros. leaps to victory at the box office

Super Mario Bros. beat all Bowser and John Wick at the box office this weekend with some huge numbers.

The Super Marios Bros. Movie took in $146.36M at the box office in its opening weekend, coming in well above the projections. It took in $173M in the foreign markets for a global opening of $377.62M.

Second place this weekend went to John Wick: Chapter 4 with $14.6M for a new domestic total of $147.06M. Internationally it sits at $121.83M for a global total of $268.9M.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves came in third this weekend with $14.6M for a new domestic total of $62.27M. It’s foreign total sits at $61.8M for a global total of $124.07M.

Fourth place went to AIR with $14.46M for a domestic total of $20.21M. It has taken in $10.5M at the foreign box office for a global total of $30.71M

Scream VI rounded out the top five with $3.31M for a new domestic total of $103.84M. It has taken in $54.5M overseas for a global total of $158.34M.

The wide releases this week are Mafia Mammar, Nefarious, The Pop’s Exorcist, Renfield, Suzume, and Sweetwater.
