At Star Wars Celebration on Friday, Lucasfilm debuted the first Ahsoka trailer. The series will follow a new story as the outcast Jedi teams up with some of the remaining crew of the Ghost to look for their missing friend, Ezra Bridger, and the potential return of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

As Star Wars TV series go, this one is going to rely pretty heavily on the events of the Rebels animated series. When that series drew to a close, Ezra, a Jedi-in-training, went missing with Grand Admiral Thrawn, one of the most ruthless Imperials to ever live. We now see Ahsoka teaming with pilot Hera Syndulla, the Mandalorian Sabine Wren, and Chopper to try to find their missing friend, end Thrawn once and for all, and confront the coming darkness.

Ahsoka will be played by Rosario Dawson and she will be joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra. Hayden Christensen will also return for the series, but it is unclear if will be flashbacks to when he was Anakin or as Darth Vader, or perhaps both.

If you’ve never watched Rebels, now may be a good time to start before Ahsoka debuts in Aug. 2023.
