Dungeons & Dragons rolls a win at the weekend box office

It seems that a lot of people were ready for some fantasy this weekend.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves took the top spot this weekend with $38.5M, coming in well above estimates. It took in $33M at the foreign box offices for a global opening of $71.5M.

Second place this weekend went to John Wick: Chapter 4 with $28.2M for a new domestic total of $122.86M. Internationally it sits at $133M for a global total of $244.87M.

His Only Son opened in third place with $5.5M.

Scream VI landed in fourth place with $5.3M for a new domestic total of $98.22M. It has taken in $49.4M overseas for a global total of $147.58M.

Creed III rounded out the top five with $5M this weekend for a new domestic total of $148.57M. It has taken in $110M at the foreign box office for a global total of $258.57M.

The wide releases this week are Air, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Paint.
