Sky has announced that it will launch an international edition of Saturday Night Live in the U.K. and Ireland in 2026. The new series, titled Saturday Night Live UK, will be filmed in London and follow the U.S. format of celebrity hosts and musical guests.
Lorne Michaels, the longtime showrunner of the U.S. edition, is signed on as an executive producer.
Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and Sky’s chief content officer, said of the announcement, “For over 50 years, Saturday Night Live has held a unique position in TV and in our collective culture, reflecting and creating the global conversation all under the masterful comedic guidance of Lorne Michaels.” They went on to add, “The show has discovered and nurtured countless comedy and musical talents over the years and we are thrilled to be partnering with Lorne and the SNL team to bring an all-British version of the show to U.K. audiences next year — all live from London on Saturday night!”
The series will debut in 2026 and will air on Sky Max and the NOW streaming service. No cast members have been announced as of yet.
