The 49th Sentai series is getting set to make its debut in Japan, and it’s time we said hello to the No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger.

The Sentai – Japanese for some form of a military unit like a squadron – series has been running for five decades in Japan now. On Feb. 16, 2025, the 49th series will make its debut. A special Episode Zero will premiere on the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club page on Feb. 2, 2025.
The team this year will start off with five members:
- Gozyu Wolf/Tono Hoeru played by Fuyuno Miu
- Gozyu Leon/Rikuo Hyakuya played by Hideharu Suzuki
- Gozyu Tyranno/Ryugi Bakugami played by Kanda Masakazu
- Gozyu Eagle/Kinjiro Takehara played by Jin Matsumoto
- Gozyu Unicorn/Sumino Ichikawa played by Maya Imamori
As with every new Sentai series, there is no guarantee we will ever see it come to the U.S. as a season of Power Rangers. Since we went to a two-season format in 2011 with Power Rangers Samurai and Power Rangers Super Samurai, we’ve been jumping over some different Sentai series. Hasbro had been keeping the two-season concept, but as of right now, there are no plans for any new TV seasons of the Power Rangers franchise.
If the U.S. will ever use Japanese suits again remains to be seen, let alone a new TV series.
