Michelle Yeoh is heading to the future as she has been cast in the upcoming Blade Runner 2099.

Amazon Prime Video has ordered a TV sequel to Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 entitled Blade Runner 2099. Yeoh is the first named cast member and will be playing, Olwen, a replicant nearing the end of her life.
Yeoh won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2023 for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. She has had a storied career spanning both the Hong Kong and Hollywood film and television industries. She has appeared in films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Crazy Rich Asians, and Tomorrow Never Dies. She has also become a big part of the new era of Star Trek having a major role on Star Trek Discovery.
Silka Luisa is serving as showrunner for the series and will be an executive producer alongside Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, and Clayton Krueger. They will be joined by Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, and Ben Roberts from Alcon Entertainment. Tom Spezialy, Richard Sharkey, Michael Green, Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra, and Isa Dick Hackett also executive produce.
Jonathan van Tulleken is set to direct the first two episodes of the series.
