Amazon MGM is getting set to head to Eternia as it has announced the release of a new Masters of the Universe movie.

Mattel is hot around Hollywood right now following the success of Barbie in Summer 2023. Now the eternally gestating Masters of the Universe movie seems to be moving forward.
Travis Knight has been tapped to direct from a script by Chris Butler. Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner, and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch are producing. The company has also released a synopsis of the film’s plot.
10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!
No cast has been announced for the film as of yet.
The film rights were last at Netflix which spent $30M on development before finally canceling the project.
Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
