All rise as Judge Judy Sheindlin is returning to syndication with her current series, Judy Justice.

Since leaving Judge Judy in 2021, Sheindlin has been hosting Judy Justice for Freevee – formerly IMDb TV – and is currently in its third season. The company has now shopped it around and it has been approved for 95% of the local markets in the U.S.
This presents an interesting conundrum for the old episodes of Judge Judy. CBS has continued to syndicate those episodes to great success. But now the aging episodes will be competing with new content of the popular television courtroom host. CBS, which owns the old program, have apparently been still demanding a high price and the best time slots for the reruns.
How the two shows will compete in the marketplace is going to be interesting. While there is a spot for the nostalgia of the old episodes, fans are sure to want to see the new content if they haven’t already seen them on Freevee.
No word yet on which markets will be picking up Judy Justice.
