Disney Plus and Hulu to raise prices in October

Disney Plus and Hulu have announced that their prices will once again be rising in the fall across all of the various tiers.

As is becoming a common practice with streaming services, another price hike is on the way. This time it will be Disney Plus and Hulu subscribers that will be seeing the increased cost.

With all of the different tiers offered by the sister services, it’s a little difficult to break down succinctly, but, on average, you will see your price going up by $2 a month. TVLine broke it all down into a handy chart.

Those on annual plans will also see corresponding price increases.

All streaming services are trying to find a path to profitability, and it seems to come back around to increasing subscription prices repeatedly. While cord-cutting was seen initially not only as a way to watch TV more on your own terms, it was also viewed as being considerably cheaper. As cable subscriptions continue to be cut at an even faster pace than originally projected, entertainment companies are quickly making up for that lost revenue with price hikes.

Expect more of this in the near future as the industry continues to try to find a new equilibrium,
