Black Widow officially delayed due to Coronavirus

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause uncertainty, Marvel Studios has indefinitely delayed the upcoming Black Widow movie.

With numerous films already having been delayed, and theater chains such as AMC and Regal closing their doors for an unknown amount of time, things are going to be odd in the movie landscape. While all of the films of April have already been pushed back, it seemed as though Marvel would wait a bit longer before it moved Black Widow off of its May 1, 2020 release date.

As of right now, Marvel is not sharing a new release date for the film. While Universal will soon be renting current releases on digital platforms, it seems highly unlikely that Marvel would follow that plan. The Marvel films are far too established to debut on digital platforms. This film, amongst all the other delayed films, will eventually find new release dates.

Our guess, for the time being, is that a lot of these films will be held until 2021. As other movies had to cease production, next year’s release dates are going to be freed up.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but it is doubtful this is the end of the changes.
