It was announced on Tuesday that A League of Their Own is finally coming back to Prime Video, but not for long. Following months of negotiations with Sony TV, Amazon’s Prime Video finally reached a deal that will see the series return for an abbreviated conclusion. The second season, which will serve as the last for the series, will consist of only four episodes.
The first season debuted in Aug. 2022 with eight episodes, and was generally well-received. (You can read our review here) According to sources speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the lengthy negotiations had to do with the licensing fee, and then a renegotiation with everyone involved with the series due to the shortened episode count.
Will the series be able to come to a satisfactory conclusion in just four episodes? Considering where the series left off, that does seem like enough time to wrap everything up and leave fans satisfied with a conclusion.
No word as of yet as to when A League of Their Own season 2 will debut.
