SIFTR 2.0 is currently on Kickstarter, and it is one of the handiest kitchen gadgets you could ever come across.

Draining canned goods is never pleasant. Whether you cut the lid and hold it in place as you pour out the liquid, or you grab a normal sized colander, it feels wasteful using that bit of a tool for such a small job.

And that’s where SIFTR comes in.

The concept is simple: It’s a washable silicon top you put over your opened can, tip over, and the liquid comes out.

The first iteration of SIFTR began shipping in late 2020, and now the company is back with some improvements. First, and foremost, you will now receive three different sizes to accommodate more cans. You will also find that the lids now nest within each other for easier storage in your drawers.

Once you’re done using them, simply throw them in the dishwasher and you’re good to go.

I personally backed the SIFTR 1.0 and have been using it multiple times a week since I received them. To say I’m excited for more sizes would be an understatement. It never fails to bum me out when I’m working with a can and the original SIFTR won’t fit on them.

Kickstarter campaigns have gotten a bit of a bad wrap over the years, and with good reasons. Unfulfilled projects, poor shipping, and more have led to a lot of people being nervous about using the crowdfunding site. Luckily, with SIFTR 1.0 successfully funded and shipped, the company has a track record it can point to.

SIFTR 2.0 has already passed its funding goal and will continue to run through March 18 at 12pm Eastern. You can check out the SIFTR2.0 Kickstarer here.
