Marvel Studios had a presentation at D23 this weekend, and while they didn’t announce any totally new projects, they did update several of them.
One of the biggest announcements of the presentation was the unveiling of the cast for the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. We’re going to be diving back into several Marvel films to bring back characters. One piece of concept art showed off that we’ll see Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Black Widow, Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost (Ant-Man and the Wasp), David Harbour as Red Guardian (Black Widow), Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova (Black Widow, Hawkeye), Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier (Too many MCU projects to list), Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent (Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster (Black Widow).
Rumors have indicated we may also see the return of Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo (Captain America: Civil War, Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and possibly the introduction of some new characters.
No word as of yet as to who the villain may be. We also expect to see some of these characters again in the future in events such as Avengers: Secret Wars.
Thunderbolts is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
