The Power Rangers will be morphing onto Netflix as its new ongoing home as it builds out an entire universe.

It was already known that when Power Rangers: Dino Fury returns it will be exclusive to Netflix, bringing an end to the Nickelodeon/Power Rangers partnership of the last several years. What the plans would be from there forward was still up in the air, but it seems we now know.
Speaking with Deadline, Michael Lombardo, President of Global Television for Hasbro’s Entertainment One, stated that Netflix is the new home of all things Power Rangers. “Since we set up Power Rangers with Jonathan [Entwistle], we pitched really a whole-world approach. It’s not just one show, it is shows followed by films, some kids’ programming. We have found a great writing partner for him, they are off. Knock on wood, Netflix is excited, we’re excited, we hope to have some news soon.”
While the Power Rangers franchise has always repurposed footage from the Japanese Sentai franchise, Hasbro has expressed its desire to move forward on its own from here. And it has also been hinted that the franchise will reboot, ignoring past seasons and beginning everything once again. If correct, that means we could be heading all the way back to the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.
Hopefully this won’t preclude from all of the seasons returning to Netflix. Nearly all of the seasons left the service in Feb. 2021 and have not shown up on any other streaming service. With the two companies cementing a long-term relationship, we feel as though we’ll be seeing all of the old seasons return in the not too distant future.
Whatever form the Rangers take, it will be interesting to see if it will work. Rangers fans are a loyal group, and new ones are introduced each year.
