Train to Busan was the must-see horror film of 2016, and now it is receiving a sequel in the form of Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula.
Directed by Yeon Sang-Ho – who directed the original Train to Busan – Peninsula picks up four years later and finds South Korea to be completely devastated by the zombie outbreak.
While we loved Train to Busan, what made it stand out in a sea of zombie media was the setting on a train. Being trapped in such confined quarters made the danger that much more present and immediate. This one just being set in an apocalyptic world just seems like so many other zombie films.
Will there be something to set this one apart like the original? We’ll just have to wait and see.
