Morbius takes the top spot at the box office

Sony has launched another Spider-Man spinoff to take the top spot at the box office in its opening weekend.

Morbius took the top spot at the box office this weekend with $39.1M. It took in $44.9M in the foreign markets for a global total of $84M.

Second place went to the new Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum rom-com adventure The Lost City with a drop of 51% to take in $14.8M. The new domestic total sits at $54.58M.

The Batman took third place with $10.8M for a new domestic total of $349M. The global total now stands at $710.5M.

Fourth place went to Uncharted with $3.6M for a new domestic total of $138.91M and a global total of $363.11M.

Spider-Man: No Way Home landed in fifth place with $1.4M for a new domestic total of $802.7M and a global total of $1.89B.

This week’s major release is Sonic 2.
