Apple has announced that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is not only renewed for season 2, but it is also planning multiple spinoffs.
Introduced in 2014’s Godzilla, Monarch has remained a shadowy organization that keeps a watchful eye on the Titans. The first season of the Apple Plus series delved into the formation of the organization, as well as the time period immediately following the emergence of Godzilla in 2014.
“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has left an indelible imprint on the hearts, minds and imaginations of audiences around the world, led by the brilliance of Chris, Matt, Kurt, Wyatt and the incredibly gifted talented cast and creative team,” said Morgan Wandell, head of international development for Apple TV+. “We couldn’t be more excited for viewers to not only have the chance to experience even more thrills in season two, but to embark on epic, new journeys in the franchise, as we expand Legendary’s Monsterverse.”
There is no word as of yet as to what the potential spinoffs will be.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is a part of the MonsterVerse series, which currently consists of Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong. and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is available globally on Apple TV Plus.
