The summer box office is continuing a slow rollout with another top film coming in under estimates.

First place went to IF with $35M, under the $40M estimates for the weekend. With a budget of $110M, it’s a concerning start. It took in a further $20M in the foreign markets for an opening weekend of $55M.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes came in second with a drop of 55% to take in $26M for a new domestic total of $101.23M. It has taken in $136.3M in the foreign markets for a global total of $237.53M.
Third place went to The Strangers: Chapter 1 with $12M.
The Fall Guy landed in fourth place with $8.45M for a new domestic total of $62.98M. It has taken in $64.58M in the foreign markets for a global total of $127.56M.
Rounding out the top five was Challengers with $2.94M for a new domestic total of $43.51M. It has taken in a further $35.2M overseas for a global total of $78.71M.
The wide releases this week are Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, The Garfield Movie, and Sight.
