Fox renews four animated seasons for four seasons each

Fox is staying in the animation business for some time to come.

Fox announced this week that Bob’s Burgers (through season 19), Family Guy (through season 27), and The Simpsons (through season 40) have all been renewed for four seasons each. Each season will consist of 15 episodes, adding 60 additional episodes to each series.

Another announcement was made that after a decade on TBS, American Dad will be returning to Fox and also picked up an order for four seasons of 15 episodes each, bringing it up to season 23.

“This new deal celebrates the eternal popularity of these iconic comedies, as well as the enduring, prolific relationship we continue to enjoy with our friends at 20th Television Animation and the brilliant creators – that goes double for Seth this time around — and incredible voices behind these contemporary classics,” Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, said in a statement.
