It seems every one was ready for some scares this weekend.
First place went to Resident Evil with $60M at the domestic box office. It took in a further $48.3M in the foreign markets for a global opening of $108.3M.
Practical Magic 2 came in second with $12.15M for a new domestic total of $50.03M. It has taken in $26.8M in the foreign markets for a global total of $76.83M.
Third place went to Spider-Man: Brand New Day with $6.5M, bringing its domestic total to $944.5M and making it the highest-grossing domestic film of all time. It has taken in $1.516B in the foreign markets for a global total of $2.460B.
The Odyssey came in fourth with $4.9M for a new domestic total of $609.75M. It has taken in a further $1.111B in the foreign markets for a global total of $1.721B.
Fifth place went to Coyote vs. Acme with $4.51M for a new domestic total of $54.61M. It has taken in $20.53M in the foreign markets for a global total of $75.34M.
The wide releases this week are Avengers: Endgame re-release, Charlie Harper, Forgotten Island, Heart of the Beast, Primetime, and The Stunt Driver.
