First place went to Avatar: The Way of Water with $134M, coming in slightly under the projections of $135 to $150M. Combined with the $300.5M it took in from the foreign markets it opened to $434.5M globally.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever landed in second place this weekend with $5.4M for a new domestic total of $418.99M. Globally it now sits at $776.4M.
Third place went to Violent Night with $5M for a new domestic total of $34.96M, and globally it sits at $55.06M.
Strange World landed in fourth place with $2.2M domestically for a new total of $33.77M. Globally the total sits at $56.72M.
Fifth place went to The Menu with $1.7M for a new domestic total of $32.12M. Globally it sits at $60.8M.
This week’s major releases are Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Babylon, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and Empire of Light.
