Super Mario Bros. leaps to a second victory at the box office

Super Mario Bros. took a third top spot at the box office, and looks as though it may stay there for a bit.

The Super Marios Bros. Movie took in $58.23M at the box office in its third weekend, bringing its domestic total to $434.32M. It has taken in $442.1M in the foreign markets for a global total of $876.43M.

Second place went to Evil Dead Rise with $23.5M in the U.S. and $16.8M overseas for a global total of $40.3M.

Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant came in third in its opening weekend with $6.28M.

Fourth place went to John Wick: Chapter 4 with $5.71M for a new domestic total of $168.84M. Internationally it sits at $189.58M for a global total of $358.46M.

Fourth place went to Renfield with $7.77M. It took in a further $2,26M in the foreign markets for a global total of $10.03M.

AIR rounded out the top five with $5.54M for a domestic total of $41.76M. It has taken in $21M at the foreign box office for a global total of $62.76M

The wide releases this week are Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World, Polite Society, and Sisu.
