Lilo & Stitch surfs to the top of the box office again

Disney has once again proven that it can find wild success with its live-action remakes as Lilo & Stitch scores a second win.

First place went to Lilo & Stitch with $63M for a new domestic total of $280.12M. It has taken in a further $330.7M in the foreign markets for a global total of $610.82M.

Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning came in second with $27.29M for a new domestic total of $122.61M. It has taken in $127M in the foreign markets for a global total of $249.61M.

Third place went to Karate Kid: Legends with $21M. It has taken in $26M in the foreign markets for a global total of $47M.

Final Destination: Bloodlines landed in fourth place with $10.8M for a new domestic total of $111.71M. It has taken in a further $117.6M in the foreign markets for a global total of $229.31M.

Fifth place went to Bring Her Back with $7.08M. It has taken in $1M in the foreign markets for a global total of $8.08M.

The wide releases this week are Ballerina, Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, Dangerous Animals, The Ritual, and The Phoenician Scheme.
