In a surprise announcement, Universal Pictures has announced that a new Jurassic Park film is on the way for the summer of 2025. Currently, the studio is said to be talking with Leitch about directing the film. The director has made a name for himself with intense directing jobs on Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Bullet Train, and more.

The new film is going to be the kick-off to an all-new storyline and will not involve Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, or any of the other old castmembers.

David Koepp, who wrote the original Jurassic Park, is deep into the script process.

With Leitch appearing to be the choice for the director, it definitely seems the film will be heading in a more action-driven direction.

The new Jurassic World is scheduled to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
