Dog Man wins the weekend at the box office

Things finally picked up at the box office thanks to man’s best friend.

Dog Man took the top spot this weekend with $36M, coming in over the estimates. It picked up a further $4.59M overseas for a global total of $40.59M.

Second place went to Companion with $9.5M at the domestic box office. A further $5.5M came in from the foreign markets for a global total of $15M.

Mufasa: The Lion King landed in third place with $6.11M for a new domestic total of $229.51M. Combined with the $423.5M from overseas it stands at $653.01M.

Fourth place went to One of Them Days with $6M for a new total of $34.45M.

Flight Risk rounded out the top five with $5.6M for a new domestic total of $20.9M. Its global total stands at $25.1M thanks to $4.19M from overseas.

The wide releases this week are Heart Eyes and Love Hurts.
