December is upon us, and that means it’s time for Shudder to get a new selection of streaming material for users to enjoy.

Shudder Originals and Exclusives for December 2024

• Coming Home in the Dark – Streaming on December 1 (US, CA)
  A schoolteacher is forced to confront a brutal act from his past when a pair of ruthless drifters take his family and him on a nightmare road trip. Directed by James Ashcroft.
• A Creature Was Stirring – Streaming on December 1 (US, CA)
  Faith (Chrissy Metz, This is Us) keeps her troubled teenage daughter on a tightly controlled but illicit pill regimen in order to ward off a terrifying affliction. But after a Christmas burglary, their family secret may finally be exposed. Directed by Damien LeVeck, the film also stars Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween) and Annalise Basso (Captain Fantastic).
• Dead Calm – Streaming on December 1 (US)
  After a tragedy, John Ingram and his wife Rae are spending some time isolated at sea when they come across a stranger who has abandoned a sinking ship. Directed by Philip Noyce.
• The Haunted Season: To Fire You Come at Last – Streaming on December 1 (US, CA, AU, NZ, UK)
  From Severin Films and renowned author, producer, and filmmaker Kier-La Janisse (Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror, House of Psychotic Women) comes the new series, The Haunted Season. Created by Janisse, new episodes of The Haunted Season will arrive on Shudder each December with chilling short-form horror tales in the tradition of telling ghost stories for Christmas.
• The first, from director Sean Hogan, is To Fire You Come at Last. In rural 17th-century England, a group of men gathers to carry a coffin to the graveyard for burial. Much ancient folklore and superstition surround the pathway to the church, and several members of the party are afraid to walk it after dark. The grieving father promises to double their wages if they make the frightening journey.
• Village of the Damned – Streaming on December 1 (US)
  In the film directed by John Carpenter, a small town’s women give birth to unfriendly alien children posing as humans.
• The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula (Shudder Original Series) – Season Finale on Tuesday, December 3 (US, CA, AU, NZ, UKI)
  Who will be the winner of the coveted Dragula crown and take home the $100,000 grand prize? Dubbed “Season 666,” the new chapter of Emmy-nominated The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula is the most ambitious and terrifying yet, with world-renowned actors and directors joining the judges’ panel, raising the stakes to hellish new heights.

  Every episode promises spine-chilling, extreme physical feats that will push the cast of drag superstars to confront their darkest fears. This 10-episode season is bigger, bloodier, and more brutal than anything that’s come before, featuring expanded “on location” challenges, twisted new themes for the floorshows, cinematic sequences dripping with dread, and innovative drag that will leave viewers gasping.

• The Creep Tapes (Shudder Original Series) – New Episodes Every Friday Until The Season Finale on December 13
  From writers and executive producers Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice, The Creep Tapes continues to unravel the mind of a secluded serial killer who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life. Unfortunately, as the tape rolls, the killer’s questionable intentions surface with his increasingly odd behavior, and the victims will learn they may have made a deadly mistake.
• Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage (Shudder Original Special) – New Special Premieres LIVE Friday, December 13 on Shudder TV and AMC+ TV; Available On Demand Beginning Sunday, December 15 (US, CA, AU, NZ, UKI)
  Snow is falling, and the bodies are piling up for Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage when Joe Bob and Darcy host two holiday horror flicks featuring so much bloodshed that Santa will think twice before coming down this chimney.
• Just Joe Bob (Shudder Original Series) – Bing Premiere on December 13 (US, CA, AU, NZ, UKI)
  All the rants, raves, and reviews you can handle… without the movies. Gather ‘round with Joe Bob Briggs, Darcy, and the whole Drive-In crew for the segments and commentary from episodes of The Last Drive-In series. No films, just Joe Bob.
• Last Straw (Shudder Exclusive Film) – New Film Premieres Friday, December 20 (US, CA)
  A rural roadside diner becomes the host of a maniacal killing spree – leaving a young waitress to clean up the mess. After hard-headed Nancy fires the staff at her dad’s diner, she decides to cover the last shift of the night by herself.
• Little does she know she is far from alone. The day is coming back to haunt her, and when things begin to spiral out of control, she must fight for her life over the course of the long night.
• Horror’s Greatest Season 2 (Shudder Original Series) – New Season Premieres Tuesday, December 31 (US, CA, AU, NZ, UKI)

  A group of teenagers in San Francisco discover a nest of homicidal monsters living in a tower of the Golden State Bridge, but when they try to tell authorities, no one believes them.

• Rabid

• T-Blockers
  Ancient parasites rise from a small town, taking the most fearful and susceptible hosts. A young filmmaker finds herself as the only one who can sense the possessed resistance before the horror escapes and spreads.

  Jay and Aria are at a low point. Max, Jay’s boyfriend and Aria’s brother, was brutally murdered by a cult. The hate crime was not taken seriously. Now, the duo must travel through rural Australia to kill the demons behind it and avenge Max.
• Carnage For Christmas
  Lola, a true-crime podcaster, returns home for Christmas only to face a vengeful ghost reenacting the murders of a historic killer. With her community at risk, she must confront the town’s buried secrets to stop the slaughter.
