Scary Movie Took the Top Spot at the Box Office

Old IP returned to the top of the box office in multiple slots.

Scary Movie took the top spot at the box office with $55M. It took in a further $50.5M for a global total of $105.5M.

Second place went to Masters of the Universe with $29.3M. It took in a further $25M for a global opening of $54.3M off of a $200M budget. It looks as though we may have our first bomb of the summer.

Backrooms landed in third place with $25.94M bringing its domestic total to $135.05M. It taken in $60.8M in the foreign markets for a global total of $195.85M off of a $10M budget.

Fourth place went to Obsession with $25.6M for a new domestic total of $152.13M. It has taken in $72.66M in the foreign markets for a global total of $224.79M.

The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act rounded out the top five with $12.39M for a new domestic total of $20.75M.

The wide releases this week are Disclosure Day, The Furious, and Stop! That! Train!.
