One Piece is going on hiatus until April 2025, but don’t think Toei Animation will leave you completely devoid of new content.

Toei Animation has announced that One Piece is taking a break immediately following episode 1122, which debuted on Sunday. The series will resume in April 2025 with new episodes from the Egghead arc.

While a hiatus usually means nothing will be released, Toei will do something a bit different. The company will release a re-envisioned version of One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga. The episodes will be available exclusively to Crunchyroll in select regions for one month before they are released to other platforms.

One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga Official Synopsis:

The Straw Hats reunite at Sabaody! The promised day has arrived. The Straw Hats have made it back to Sabaody Archipelago after two arduous years of separation. In the very same place where they once lost to Pacifista, the Straw Hats have proven themselves to be stronger and ready to begin their journey to the New World. With the Thousand Sunny now equipped to travel underwater, the next stop is the Fish-Man Island. “One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga” is a special edited version of the original arc from “One Piece”, in an abridged 21-episode story with an enhanced contemporary visual look.

The 21-episode countdown to the series’ return will include a new opening theme, “We Go!” by Kitadani Hiroshi, and will include a special guest that will be announced at a later date. The ending theme will be “Sailing” (TV version) by BE:FIRST.

On Oct. 20, a special 25th-anniversary episode will premiere that will tell the story of the Straw Hat crew reuniting from the perspective of the non-pirate characters. It will be set in the the Sabaody Archipelago after the Summit War. The story will follow a young girl who is an admirer of Nami as she sets off on her own small adventure.

While a hiatus is usually a disappointing announcement, it appears there will be plenty to keep fans entertained.
