The latest Morbius trailer has arrived, and there is a lot to break down.

First up, the trailer itself.
It’s clear that Morbius is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point. Yes, there are two references to Venom, but there is also the Spider-Man painting on the wall, as well as the appearance by Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton). We already knew about Toomes, but following the post-credits scene in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the fact the Spider-Man painting says “Murderer” on it, everything is just adding up to this film taking place in the main MCU.
Of course, nothing is official until it’s announced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, but it looks as though the lines are definitely blurring when it comes to these Spider-Man spinoff films.
Beyond that, this is our best look yet at the movie, and it definitely has our attention more than ever!
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?
Morbius will hit theaters on January 28, 2022.
