Moana 2 sails to the top of the box office

Make way, make way, for a new queen of Thanksgiving weekend.

First place went to Moana 2 with $135.5M for the three-day weekend. Combined with the showing earlier in the week the film already stands at $221M domestic, and $52.7M from the foreign markets. It now stands at $273.7M globally. This now stands as the largest ever opening for the Thanksgiving weekend. As this was originally going to be a Disney Plus project, Disney made the right call.

Wicked took second place with $80M for a new domestic total of $262.42M. It has taken in a further $97M in the foreign markets for a global total of $359.42M.

Third place went to Gladiator II with $30.7M for a new domestic total of $111.2M. Overseas, it has taken in $208.8M for a global total of $320M.

Red One landed in fourth place with $12.89M for a new domestic total of $76.05M. It has taken in $64.9M in the foreign markets for a global total of $141M.

Fifth place went to The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with $3.27M for a new domestic total of $32M.

The wide release this week are Get Away, he Return, Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-, Werewolves, and Y2K.
