Lilo & Stitch surfs to the top of the box office for a third weekend

Disney has once again proven that it can find wild success with its live-action remakes as Lilo & Stitch scores a third win.

First place went to Lilo & Stitch with $32.5M for a new domestic total of $335.79M. It has taken in a further $436.8M in the foreign markets for a global total of $772.59M.

Ballerina opened in second place with $25M. It took in $26M in the foreign markets for a global opening of $51M.

Third place went to Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning with $15M for a new domestic total of $149.21M. It has taken in $301.2M in the foreign markets for a global total of $450.41M.

Karate Kid: Legends kicked its way to fourth place with $8.7M for a new domestic total of $35.44M. It has taken in $38.6M in the foreign markets for a global total of $74.04M.

Fifth place went to Final Destination: Bloodlines with $6.5M for a new domestic total of $123.56M. It has taken in a further $133.6M in the foreign markets for a global total of $257.16M.

The wide releases this week are How to Train Your Dragon, Materialists, The Unholy Trinity, and The Life of Chuck.
