KPop Demon Hunters Takes the Top Spot at the Box Office

Without even 2,000 screens, Netflix has shown it does indeed have some power at the box office.

There are no official numbers as of press time, but it appears Kpop Demon Hunters won the weekend with $18M. It accomplished this with nearly no marketing and without the support of AMC Theaters.

Weapons came in second with $15.6M for a new domestic total of $115.88M. It has taken in a further $83.5M in the foreign markets for a global total of $199.38M.

Third place went to Freakier Friday with $9.2M for a domestic total of $70.54M. It has taken in $42.8M in the foreign markets for a global total of $113.34M.

Fantastic Four: First Steps landed in fourth place with $5.9M for a new domestic total of $257.25M. It has taken in a further $221.47M in the foreign markets for a global total of $478.72M.

The Bad Guys 2 landed in fifth place with $5.1M for a domestic total of $66.17M. It has taken in $82.94M in the foreign markets for a global total of $149.12M.

The wide releases this week are Caught Stealing, The Roses , and The Toxic Avenger.
